Analysis of the design and printing points of art paper (Part 2)
printing points of art paper
the particularity of papermaking process makes art paper have many particularity in paper structure and performance, which leads to many particularity in printing process
1. Ink absorption
if various arts choose arbitrary cross-section compression technology, the absorption span of paper to ink is very large, such as: coaster paper is very easy to absorb ink, Lenny paper is relatively easy to absorb ink, and transparent paper is difficult to absorb ink. The ink absorption of art paper is directly related to the quality of prints and the required delivery time. For the paper with poor ink absorption, you can appropriately add driers to the ink or use UV curing to avoid the back sticking and powdering due to the slow drying of the ink. Of course, the structure of paper has a great impact on ink absorption. Some papers are relatively loose and thick, and ink can easily penetrate and dry; And some are very tight texture, ink floating on the surface of the paper, so it is not easy to reproduce the results: the experimental results can be arbitrarily accessed and infiltrated into the paper, and it is not easy to dry. Art paper with different ink absorption can usually be controlled by adjusting the printing pressure and treating the ink. If necessary, a certain amount of trial printing can be carried out first (the amount depends on the need)
2. Smoothness
due to different papermaking processes, some art papers are relatively loose and thick, with low smoothness; Some papers are relatively tight and smooth. Among art paper, there are also papers with relief effect (such as relief paper) and strip texture effect (such as bamboo paper). When encountering this kind of paper, it is generally recommended to print less, or even not, and use the natural floating lines of the paper to carry out some simple local processing, such as embossing, UV glazing, hot stamping, etc., so as to basically retain the characteristics of the base paper and make full use of these characteristics to achieve the ideal decorative effect. Of course, if printing is needed, it is very necessary to regulate the printing pressure and analyze specific problems. For example, when printing loose and thick art paper, the printing pressure should not be too large, otherwise the obvious characteristics of the shading of this kind of art paper will be destroyed and the paper will be deformed. On the contrary, if you are printing art paper with relatively tight texture, you should appropriately increase the printing pressure
key points of post press processing of art paper
art paper is usually processed after printing, so as to increase the gorgeous feeling of art paper and highlight the distinctive taste of products. Common post press processing and precautions are as follows
1. Embossing
because most art paper has good bulkiness and toughness, embossing is often used in the post press processing of art paper. For art paper with different weights and textures, the pressure when pressing bumps should also be different. For art paper with heavy weight and thick paper, the pressure when pressing concave convex is relatively higher, which can ensure the significance of concave convex
2. Hot stamping
hot stamping is often used in small areas, such as logo and product name. In the process of hot stamping, we should strictly grasp the temperature and pressure of hot stamping, otherwise it is easy to shrink the upper space, resulting in poor hot stamping
conclusion
the above are several aspects that should be paid attention to when using art paper. Only by mastering the key points of art paper can the characteristics of art paper be brought into play, so as to improve the grade of products and increase the appearance value of products
